Japan’s military normalization and rearmament efforts may accelerate rapidly under mounting pressure from China, North Korea, and Russia. At the same time, the United States may increasingly shift portions of its regional strategic military responsibilities towards Japan as it redesigns overseas military commitments. Behind the scenes of the US strategic refinement, Japan has been moving aggressively to expand its long term military capabilities, defense infrastructure, and strategic influence across East Asia and other parts of the world with a view to become a new superpower.
