The Middle East
Our contributions to the major oil producing countries of the Middle East including Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates - not only in the construction of various infrastructures including plants but also in the construction and management of highly sophisticated administrative and educational facilities, as well as modernized commercial and residential facilities - are a very important part of our history. In particular, the massive construction and management achievements that have continued since the 1980s, while respecting local cultures and social norms, reflect the inseparable relationship we will continue to have with these countries. Furthermore, as the development of new technologies and regional transformation currently underway globally have become critical priorities for them, we will continue our efforts to provide them with opportunities to achieve diverse technological innovations and capitalization beyond financial investment, ensuring that their development is on par with those of other regions.
Our Approach
As a challenge towards new possibilities, we have assisted Middle Eastern countries from before the pandemic with developing new products and commercializing them by leveraging their unique cultures and lifestyles. In particular, as a result of focusing on projects that highlight the history and wisdom of the local people, changes are visibly taking place in other regions, with the increasing demand for traditional foods as a significant example. Furthermore, we are supporting groups of world class medical service providers in building and operating new medical centers in collaboration with Middle Eastern countries. Above all, the sector of growing importance is investment in precision technology, involving medical devices and materials, with the goal of transitioning from consumption to production. By pursuing such goals, Middle Eastern countries can expand further into other parts of the world.
Notably, just as major countries such as Japan, Russia, and the United States are carrying out long-term preparations and procedures to secure maritime resources and strategic interests, Middle Eastern countries are also moving toward building their future, and we are supporting their actions in that process. Among others concerning these countries, the significant transformation that has already begun involves moving from a passive to an active position to participate in a new international order regarding various new industries, while continuously raising the level of their investment and management in precision technologies. We are actively supporting the expansion of their movements into other regions that were previously restricted by domestic or regional environments.
