Client profile :

Female. Graduated from Princeton. 3.8 GPA. Worked for NGOs. Submitted applications for graduate school admission, but was uncertain of future direction beyond school. Traveled extensively across Europe and Africa.

Changes made through consulting :

Given the high probability of getting accepted for graduate school, we suggested that she spend some time meeting and speaking with our friends at Goldman Sachs. She did and hit it off with a few thinkers that were interested in what perspective she has to offer on their new deals. Discussions deepened, and the next week, she was working for them. She found joy in making and seeing people breathe life into some of the ideas she contributed – together.

What we most focused on was establishing the connection, giving her the opportunities to meet with people we thought would likely match with her qualities. Qualities are often abstract, invisible, and imperceptive. However, it is the qualities that efficiently and effectively initiate and complete a relationship. Also, her love of working with people pushed us to determine and identify those that spend years with her – day and night.

Outcome :

Joined Goldman Sachs.
