How we prepare you for internship
Step 1 | We invite and review eligibility of internship applicants - you | Applicants are evaluated based on a variety of standards, including academic performance, areas of interest and depth, reading comprehension skills, level of writing skills, and readiness for serious academic and intellectual exploration. |
Step 2 | We train you | Applicants are trained to read and summarize the key points necessary for conducting top tier college research projects, form logical questions, and present and explain areas of interest, topics, and issues in academic languages. |
Step 3 | We make final selection | Final selection is made by professor in charge based on the evaluation of many different standards such as the applicants’ readiness, seriousness, ability to perform tasks, sense of responsibility, maturity, and ability to collaborate with others observed or confirmed in the training process. |
Step 4 | You carry out your internship | You perform the assignments of the actual research project under the guidance of professor in charge or researcher in charge. |
Step 5 | Professor evaluates your performance | Professor in charge makes a comprehensive evaluation of accuracy of the intern's assignment performed, as well as various standards such as abilities to think, solve problems, and reflect feedback, sense of responsibility, extent of growth, and quality of collaboration. |
Step 6 | Professor may issue evaluation, letter of recommendation, or reference | Based on the results of the comprehensive evaluation of your internship performed, you could receive a letter of evaluation, recommendation, or reference from the professor in charge or the researcher in charge. |

3 | Number of internship | Flexible (decided prior to the start of the "Internship Application Preparation Process" in conjunction with the "Internship Overview" and "Professor Information." --> This is to ensure that the disclosure of information is handled carefully until the recruitment of applicants has been confirmed to have a sufficient number of qualified applicants.)

Types of internship | Research internship participation type : You participate as an intern or research assistant in an ongoing or upcoming research project for your professor in charge or a lab.
Guided research project participation type : You participate in developing research projects together with your professor in charge or lab based on the topic presented by your professor in charge or lab or your interest or topic. | |
4 | Decision maker | Approximately 1-3 interns will be selected for each type of internship, and the final decision on selection and assignment is made by the professor in charge (and the final internship assignment may be accepted or declined by the successful applicants). |
5 | Prerequisites | Execute the internship application preparation process to demonstrate your ability to participate in the research projects led by world-class professors. |
6 | Selection process | After undergoing training through the internship application preparation process, each professor in charge conducts interviews in the final 2-3 stages and makes the final selection. |
7 | Recommendation letter of professor | Depending on the success and quality of internship, you could receive a letter of evaluation, recommendation, or reference from your professor in charge, which may be submitted for admission to the colleges of your choice, related research institutes, or major companies. |
8 | Scarcity & powerfulness | You could secure rare top-tier college research internship opportunities based on the training results through the internship application preparation process. References provided by stakeholders such as your professor in charge may be submitted for admission to the colleges of your choice, related research institutes, or major companies regarding your ability to perform research at a different level. |
9 | Benefits | Based on your professor in charge’s judgement of your performance or contribution, among others, you may be registered as a co-author or other contributor in the publication of a world-class academic journal with your professor in charge. |
10 | Selectivity | The internship competitiveness varies depending on the situation every year, and approximately 10 out of 100 applicants are expected to be selected. However, interns may be selected at the discretion of each professor in charge. |
