Germany’s manufacturing driven economy may experience a much deeper structural weakening than many realize. China has continued to grow its dominance across manufacturing industries including automotive, while broadening its economic influence throughout Europe. As China’s industrial competitiveness strengthens further, many of Europe’s manufacturing, trade, and service sectors might lose their long-term competitiveness, importance, and strategic opportunities in the new era of technological advancements.
