The Company Map is a strategic document for interview preparation that a candidate must complete without exception before the interview. The purpose of this document is not to collect or summarize company information. Instead, the candidate must understand how the company operates, define the core problems the company is faced with, and prepare specific improvement proposals or restructuring perspectives that can be presented during the interview.


That is, the Company Map is not an information-gathering document. It is a structured preparation of strategic perspectives and proposals that the candidate can use during the interview. Through this process, the candidate moves beyond passive knowledge and becomes capable of engaging in substantive discussions. The candidate can then demonstrate sharp thinking and sound business judgment.


1. Company core — Analysis of how the company operates


The goal of this stage is to understand clearly how the company generates revenue and what drives its organizational movement. The purpose is not to collect facts, but to analyze the business model and the logic of operations to form usable perspectives for the interview.

Recent changes and key issues

        The candidate must analyze the revenue model and business logic rather than merely introducing or summarizing products or services. The analysis must not stop at listing past performance. It must interpret future possibilities and areas that are not yet fully visible.

        All work occurs within an organizational arrangement. Therefore, the candidate must analyze how internal collaboration functions and how the company interacts with external stakeholders.

         

        If the candidate does not understand the team’s role, it will be difficult to explain how the candidate can contribute within the broader company context.

        The interviewer knows the company’s current condition. The most direct way to demonstrate genuine interest and understanding is to analyze recent trends and changes.

         

        The candidate must avoid problems that are too broad at the market level or too narrow at the individual task level. The selected issue must be meaningful at the company or team level.
